By using Retrohotline, you agree to these terms. Retrohotline (“we,” “us,” or “the line”) operates the service.
What the line is
Retrohotline is an entertainment service that delivers personal voice content. You text a Retrohotline number, and an AI voice calls you back with a short response. The voice is AI-generated. The call itself is real.
What the line is not
Retrohotline is entertainment. It is not professional advice — not legal, medical, financial, psychic, or mental health advice. Do not act on what the line tells you as if it were any of those.
If you are in crisis, Retrohotline is not a substitute for emergency services or licensed professionals. Call or text 988 for the Suicide and Crisis Lifeline, or contact a local crisis line. In a life-threatening emergency, contact your local emergency number.
Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old to use Retrohotline. By using the service you confirm that you are.
No guarantees
We do our best to make the line useful, but we make no guarantees about call timing, accuracy, content quality, or availability. Calls may be delayed, cut short, or unavailable due to provider outages, capacity, or moderation.
Acceptable use
You agree not to use Retrohotline to:
- Harass, threaten, impersonate, or harm any person
- Use the service for any illegal purpose
- Attempt to extract, reverse-engineer, or abuse the underlying systems
- Send the line content depicting or encouraging the abuse of minors, non-consensual sexual content, or violence against specific real people
Account termination
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts at our discretion, including for violations of these terms or for behaviour that puts the service at risk. We will refund unused subscription time when termination is at our discretion and not for cause.
Subscriptions, billing, and cancellation
Subscriptions are billed monthly in advance and auto-renew at the end of each billing period until you cancel. The price you see at checkout is the price you will be charged each month, in U.S. dollars, until you change or cancel the plan.
You can cancel at any timefrom your account page (the “Manage subscription” link routes you to the Stripe Customer Portal). Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period — you keep access through the date your plan was already paid for, and you are not charged again.
Monthly subscriptions are non-refundable for the current period unless we cancel your account at our discretion and not for cause, in which case we will pro-rate a refund of unused time. We may revisit this policy as the product matures and will update these terms when we do.
Plan limits. Each tier has a documented call allowance (per month or per day, depending on the plan) and a maximum call duration per oracle. These are listed on the Pricing page and on your account page. We may adjust call limits to prevent abuse; we will not silently lower the limits on a plan you have already paid for during the current period.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Retrohotline and its owner are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the three months prior to the claim.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as the product evolves. The current version is always dated at the top of this page. If we make material changes, we will give notice before they take effect.
